I still will often shed tears when I think of Sister Eleanor. The bond I shared with her was so special. When I knew her time was coming to an end here, I often thought I would like to have her Bible. Of course, I was really in no position to ask for this. I soon learned after her passing that our Pastor was going to receive her Bible. Just to be completely honest, I debated on asking him if he would consider lending it to me. I just didn't feel it was an appropriate ask, so I didn't. I did pray though, I told the Lord what my heart desired, I left it with him and had peace.
Just over 3 years later another sister in the Lord spotted a post on FB, a man had purchased this Bible, as he collected antique Bibles, but after looking her up, posted the Bible in the event that any of her loved ones wanted this "priceless keepsake" they would have the opportunity to acquire it. This was when I learned the longer you wait for the answer to your prayer, the more powerful the answer impacts! The love you feel from the Lord, your faith is strengthened and just to know that the Lord did not forget! Do not forget to consider the magnificent ways the Lord will orchestrate the answer to prayer as well! So often you see the body of Christ coming together in different ways. I wonder how often I have felt the subtle tug from the Holy Spirit and failed to do, failed to trust, and failed to obey? Even one time is too many. Help us Lord to trust fully and respond to your direction in obedience, doing exactly what you have shown us to do! Thank you Lord that you are a God who lives and speaks and hears your people! Glory to God!
I had never considered that in a long life of 102 years you would have more than one Bible! This gift included a picture and some notes left in the Bible, what a treasure!
